Like Ripples in a Pond By Laurie Eytel

We thank you for all the great things you do.
Large and small, they all have meaning to the families
you help and to us.
One act can make all the difference.
Like ripples in a pond – kindness spreads outward, reaching
and touching others and can change a life forever.
The smiling faces we see say it all…
Thank you…you are our stars.

National Volunteer Week – April 15 – 21, 2012

“Volunteers are fundamental to the health of our communities nationwide because they support us and everything we do,” said Ruth MacKenzie, President and CEO of Volunteer Canada. “Recognizing Canada’s 13.3 million volunteers effectively inspires them to stay engaged and involved.”

Here at Brampton Meals on Wheels, we count on our volunteer drivers to deliver meals and smiles Monday to Friday, every week of the year.  Without them, this would not be possible.  Because of their graciousness and giving spirits, we are able to bring happiness to many folks in our community that need our help – on a short term basis or more long term too.

The good news is that we are not alone.  Volunteering is part of our Canadian identity.  It makes us who we are.  We value civic participation and embrace a spirit of community. The tremendous efforts of Volunteers across Canada help make this country a vibrant and safe place to call home.

So to all our Volunteers, we simply say THANK YOU from all of us, especially our clients.  We hear this all the time – “When you give, you get back more.”  And that is so true.  We truly are blessed.

Keep doing what you are doing!
