Keepin’ cool is the plan!

Keepin’ cool is the plan!

Unbelievable, record-breaking heat!

It’s been quite the week weather wise!  Temperatures soared higher and higher while Bramptonians tried to keep cool.  If clients are home during our daily Meal deliveries, our Volunteers Drivers often check in to make sure they have plenty of liquids to stay cool and hydrated.  If you know someone who is home-bound, be sure to pay a visit to make sure they have what they need to beat the heat!

A Chorus Line hits the Rose Theatre Stage!

From July 22 to July 30, A Chorus Line will be gracing the Main Stage at the Rose Theatre.  In an empty theatre, on a bare stage, the casting takes place for a new Broadway musical. For seventeen dancers, the audition is the chance of a lifetime. It’s the one opportunity to do what they’ve always dreamed — to have the chance to dance. A Chorus Line is the longest-running American Broadway musical ever. It’s the musical for anyone who’s ever had a dream and put it all on the line. Come meet the new generation of Broadway’s best! See what they’ve worked for – with every drop of sweat, every hour of training and every day of their lives.  For more information, visit the Rose Theatre website http://www.brampton.ca/sites/rose-theatre/en/Pages/welcome.aspx

You’re invited to Anthony’s Wish Open House!

You and your family are cordially invited to attend Anthony’s Wish Open House on Saturday, July 23rd from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Wellspring Chinguacousy, 5 Inspiration Way, in Brampton! Anthony was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma cancer in his left shoulder when he was 15 years old. During his cancer experience, Anthony participated in a 10 week Cancer Exercise Program at Wellspring Chinguacousy. In 2009 he had surgery to remove his tumour and he is now a cancer survivor!  He is so grateful for the help he received from the staff and volunteers at Wellspring that he and his mother are organizing an open house to raise awareness and funds for Wellspring! Anthony’s goal is to raise $5,000 to support 10 members through the Cancer Exercise Program.  Admission is FREE. The afternoon will be filled with fun entertainment for the whole family including music, dance, and fashion. Amazing Indian food and beverages will be available for purchase. Wellspring volunteers will also be providing guided tours of the centre. All of Wellspring’s programs and services are offered free of charge to cancer patients and their families. Please RSVP by July 13th to shanita2525@hotmail.com
5 Inspiration Way, Brampton.  Phone: 416-455-9540 or visit their website at http://www.wellspringching.ca/
