Music in the park and so much more!

Music in the park and so much more!

Time flies when you’re enjoying the sunshine!

Can you believe we’re into August already?  School starts up again in a few weeks.  The Back-To-School flyers have hit the mailbox and local promotions appear in-store.  We can’t complain about the weather because nobody will listen, right?  There’s plenty to do in our beautiful City of Brampton.  Here are a few highlights to share for this upcoming weekend.

The Drawer Boy at the Rose Theatre (Aug. 5 – Aug. 27)

A young actor from a Toronto theatre group sets out to learn all about farming, in hopes of writing a play about it. The lessons begin when he finds himself on the rural Ontario farm of two retired veterans. Set in the 1970s, The Drawer Boy is based on a true story (the creation of The Farm Show) and has become a Canadian classic and a theatre lovers’ must-see. This poignant, touching and at times hilarious story, written by Michael Healey is about the power of storytelling in creating and interpreting reality, and how it can ultimately transform lives.  For more info, visit the Rose Theatre website or call 905-874-2800

National Peacekeepers’ Day (August 9th)

It’s very much worth noting that August 9th was National Peacekeepers’ Day.  It’s important for us to honour and remembers all Canadian peacekeepers who have served or who are currently serving in peace keeping operations around the world.  Bless you all for your efforts and we thank you for keeping the peace!

We hope you can make it to some of these local events.  Thanks for being here with us.  We appreciate your interest and feedback.
