Summer is gone and Fall is upon us… and that’s ok!

Fall is a beautiful time of year in Canada.

Well, it’s official.  The dog days of summer are gone and we’re heading into the Fall season.  The leaves are going to start changing soon and the temperatures will drop a little more but we’re still in good shape and that’s all that matters.

We had a wonderful week at Brampton Meals on Wheels and we hope you did too.  If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, there’s plenty to do and see.  Here’s a few things great events happening in and around town.

The Brampton Battalion opens its 2011-12 Ontario Hockey League regular-season schedule at the Powerade Centre tonight when the Barrie Colts will be the visitors.  A tailgate party starts at 6:30 in the main parking lot, followed by pre-game ceremonies starting at 7:35. Ticket prices range from $14 to $19.50 and can be purchased online at www.battalionhockey.com, at Battalion Headquarters from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or at the Box Office which opens at 5:30 p.m. today. Levac Attack 2011 – Saturday, September 24, 2011

The 2nd Annual Levac Attack Race/Run/Walk will start from 9am at 52 Greystone Crescent in Brampton (near Elgin and McMurchy). There are three distances for the run – The Tall (5.6K), The Grande (11.2K) and The Venti (22.4K). Following the run will be a BBQ celebration. There is no registration fee for the event, however, the hope is that each participant will raise a minimum $100 donation. All proceeds from the event will benefit Brampton Civic Hospital (50%) and Mount Sinai Hospital (50%).  Last year, participants raised over $8,000 and they are hoping to exceed that amount this year.  Good luck to everyone and a big thanks to John and Lorna Levac for organizing!

To register for this event, please send an email to levacattack@hotmail.ca with your contact details, shirt size and the distance you will be running.
