October 1st is International Day of Older Persons.

October 1st is International Day of Older Persons.

On December 14, 1990, the United Nations General Assembly designated October 1st as International Day of Older Persons.  We encourage everyone to celebrate someone near and dear to you ~ a family member, a friend, a neighbour, a co-worker, someone in your place of worship or a fellow Brampton Meals on Wheels client or volunteer.

It’s important to recognize the contributions seniors have made to this great City of Brampton and our beautiful country.  Without their sacrifice and vision we would not be where we are today or have the freedoms we have.  So, we take this time to say “thank you” for all seniors here in Canada and around the world.

Bless you and we wish you good health and prosperity.

Georgia Mouka, Volunteer Blogger at Brampton Meals on Wheels
