Our Volunteers Really Do Make A Difference!

Last week on October 6th, 2011 was our Annual Volunteer Appreciation and Service Awards Luncheon.  Over 70 people attended the event which was hosted by Ron Snow, President of Board for Brampton Meals on Wheels and organized Karen Humber, Office Coordinator, and her wonderful team.  Mayor Susan Fennel also was a distinguished guest at the event and said a few kind words to the crowd.

“I am glad to deliver meals to people who need assistance.  The staff at Meals on Wheels are very friendly.   After many years of being a volunteer, I have enjoyed the many clients who appreciate our service.” John Scott, Volunteer Driver (pictured above)

Our Volunteer Drivers are ordinary people doing extra-ordinary things.  Volunteers are integral to the continued success and well-being of Brampton Meals on Wheels and we benefit from their generosity and support, 5 days a week, throughout the year!   Lunch was served and Service Awards given to the following Brampton Meals on Wheels Volunteer Drivers:

5-Years of Service Excellence

Patricia Duchesnay, Gloria Henry, Laurent Julien, Joe Milohnic, Don Sargent, Frank Peddle, Tom Casselman & Carol McCauley

10-Years of Service Excellence

Andrew Heighington

20-Years of Service Excellence

Gerard Roy

Also in attendance was Murray Laidlaw, Past President of the Board of Directors as well as a Volunteer.  It was great to see you again Murray and thanks for joining us!
