With sadness, we announce the passing of a long time Volunteer Driver.

May your memory be eternal.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Josip “Jo” Milohnic on January 22, 2012 at the Brampton Civic Hospital.  Jo was a wonderful Volunteer Driver at Brampton Meals on Wheels since January, 2006.  He delivered meals every Monday and will be missed by his many clients, board members and fellow Volunteer Drivers.

Jo was the beloved husband of Gordana, cherished father of Dennis (Rhonda) and Helen (Che), dearest Dida of Damien, Megan, Lola, Luka, and Kali. Jo retired from Loblaws and was an avid world traveler and  actively involved in many initiatives here at home and abroad.  Every year he traveled to Guatemala to help build schools, recreation centers and houses.  He will also be sadly missed by his sponsor kids in Guatemala – Johanna (5yrs old) and Manuel (12yrs old) and their families.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Canadian Central American Relief Effort – a charity who works with children of the Meredon Mountains who suffer hunger and misery daily.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.

Georgia Mouka, Volunteer Blogger at Brampton Meals on Wheels
