At Brampton Meals on Wheels, we take pride in offering those in need in our community get access to high quality, nutritionally balanced hot and frozen meal programs to meet their needs and special diets. All our menu programs are carefully reviewed and approved by qualified Nutritional Experts at Peel Manor. We work closely with family members and/or clients to understand their specific dietary needs and customize a plan that is suitable. Our menu options include: diabetic, low fat, low calorie, low sodium, vegetarian, pureed and minced options.

Brampton Meals on Wheels services are delivered to:

• Individuals who are unable to cook for themselves due to chronic illness
• Individuals who are recovering from illness or surgery
• Individuals living with a physical or mental disability or undergoing medical treatment
• Seniors who don’t have the ability to travel to a grocery store to purchase food or have limited cooking skills
• Canadian Veterans

We offer two meal programs to our clients. One is our Ready-to-Eat Hot Meal program. The other is our Frozen Meals program. You can purchase one or the other or both. We do have a minimum requirement of at least two meals total per week from either program.

 

Brampton Meals on Wheels – Ready-to-Eat Hot Meal Program

Each hot meal consists of soup, a main meal (which includes a protein, starch and vegetables) and a dessert. Meals are portion controlled and are delivered in recyclable and disposable containers. The menu follows a three week rotation and offers a nutritional, balanced meal developed with input from a Registered Dietitian. Meals are diabetic-friendly with no added salt or added fats. Individual preferences can be accommodated, within reason.

• Cost is $5.25 per meal including soup, entrée and dessert
• Delivered by friendly Volunteers Monday through Friday between 11:30am and 1pm
• Hot Program service can be requested for each weekday or for as little as two days a week
• Orders must be placed 24 hours in advance
• Kindly give 24 hours notice if you wish to cancel your order
• Volunteers provide a short visit and a daily safety check

• Turkey Vegetable Soup, Chicken Pot Pie with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes and Green Peas, Vanilla Swirl Cake
• Cream of Celery Soup, Salisbury Steak with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes and Sliced Carrots, Raspberry Mousse Dessert
• Squash Soup, Vegetarian Lasagna, Garlic Bread, Italian Mixed Vegetables, Date Squares

• We also offer bulk purchasing of Entrees only; 7 Entrees per package for $27.25
• Special dietary meals (low sodium-renal/vegetarian/gluten-free) are available upon request
• Deadline to order your Frozen Meal Program service is Tuesday at 1pm.
• All Frozen Meals are delivered every Friday between 9am and 11am

Enrolling in the Brampton Meals on Wheels program is easy. Simply fill out the form here or call us at 905-453-4140 ext. 3720 today. No referral is necessary. We do not accept credit cards, debit or direct withdrawal payments at this time. Payment arrangements will be made with the Administration Team and each Client.
