Our Brampton Meals on Wheels Volunteer drivers are the backbone of our organization. Each friendly, trained volunteer works hard to bring smiles and meals to each of our clients every week. As the needs of our community grow, as does our need for dedicated, caring volunteer drivers. Our team of volunteers really make a difference in the community, spreading the “can do” spirit throughout the organization.
Whether you’re an individual looking for a new volunteer opportunity or a business looking to build a new employee volunteer initiative, we can use your help today.
Brampton Meals on Wheels volunteers do more than deliver meals door to door. Friendly, smiling faces bring joy to our clients, many of whom live alone. Our volunteers are often the daily contact for those home alone and we ensure we spend a little extra time with each client to check in, ensure their safety, and engage in some much needed conversation.
We welcome volunteers of all ages! All it takes is a vehicle and a few hours to spare. Whether it’s once a day or a few times a week, we’re happy to have your help.
To learn more about our Brampton Meals on Wheels Volunteer programs or to apply, simply fill out the form on the CONTACT US page or call us at 905-453-4140 ext. 3720 today. A member of our Brampton Meals on Wheels team will contact you shortly.
Please note that all volunteers will be asked to submit a criminal background check, as well as reference checks to ensure the safety, privacy, and protection of our clients. Approved volunteers will be required to attend an orientation training session before beginning their volunteer work. We look forward to hearing from you!
Volunteering at Brampton Meals on Wheels has been an amazing experience. I have the pleasure of working alongside an amazing staff and serving a wonderful community. This is an excellent volunteer opportunity for anybody looking to help provide an essential service to the Brampton senior community. My favourite aspect of being a volunteer is meeting new and familiar faces and hearing what they have to say.
When I retired twenty-four years ago, I became a volunteer at Brampton Meals on Wheels. I had heard glowing reports of the wonderful service they provided to our community and really wanted to be a part of it. It's rewarding to have personal contact with people who need this service and now I look upon many of my long-term clients as friends.
Volunteering for Brampton Meals on Wheels has been a wonderful experience for me. The team of staff and volunteers are some of the kindest, most welcoming people I have met. Becoming a volunteer driver is a great way to get involved in your community and make a difference in people's lives. I thoroughly enjoy visiting the clients each week and getting to know them. This is such an important program for seniors and those in need and I'm very happy I got involved with meals on wheels.
I have worked as a volunteer driver for Brampton Meals on Wheels for four years and I find that it’s been a very rewarding experience for me to be involved with this charitable organization. I would definitely recommend that if anyone is seeking to be involved in charity work that BMOW is the place to be. The staff are very cooperative and informative and always try to have the right answers to whatever questions we might have. I truly recommend volunteering with BMOW!
For the past year we have been delighted to volunteer at Brampton Meals on Wheels. It is very rewarding to be able to bring a hot meal, a warm smile and morning chat to someone who needs a little assistance. The staff and fellow volunteers are dedicated to make a personal difference to each individual.
I love interacting with the clients – all of us did. After delivering a meal, sometimes we would stay a little while to visit our clients. Every Christmas we would deliver poinsettias to each of our clients. It's a wonderful service and there is a great need for it. Helping people was always the best part of my job and probably the same for everyone who volunteers to the office staff.
