We heart our Volunteers.

We heart our Volunteers.

Love is an acronym for

“Live Optimistically, Vivaciously and Exceptionally”.

It’s true our Volunteers are the life-blood of Brampton Meals on Wheels.  Without them, we would not be able to deliver our Hot and Frozen Meal programs to our Clients.    Their dedication and commitment is what keeps us going.  We are blessed to have over 50 volunteers – some that deliver meals once a week and others that deliver meals all 5 days of the week, rain or shine…. or snow!

We’d like to acknowledge our oldest serving Volunteers and welcome with open arms our newest team of Volunteers.  You are all M.A.D. – Making A Difference!

We asked a few of our Volunteers what they loved most about delivering meals to those in need in our community.  Here’s what one of them had to say today:

(pictured above) Joe C., Volunteer Driver

I am a resident of this wonderful city of Brampton for over 20 years and still volunteering my time in youth sports for over 10 years. I was looking for another program to give back to my community.   Being a sole proprietor running a business out of my home. “Meals on Wheels” is a perfect volunteer program for me as I give up my lunch hour once or twice a week. A small commitment when you consider the rewarding experience.   The staff and volunteers are fantastic to be associated with. Most importantly meeting our wonderful clients. Who are always appreciative of the work we do.   Truth be told, I get a lot of this experience and the people I meet. We all have a story to tell. And, I will always have a friendly ear to listen to them.   Thanks Meals on Wheels for this opportunity.

Here are a few of our drivers picking up meals and delivering smiles today:

Ordinary people doing extraordinary things… everyday.

As the needs in our community increase, so does our need for caring Volunteer drivers. As with many volunteer programs, you get out of it much more than what you put into it. Our team of Volunteers really do make a difference and spread a “can do” spirit throughout the operation.

Our Volunteers do more than deliver meals door to door. Perhaps as important as getting meals to those in need is your smiling face and some words of kindness and friendship. Many of our clients live alone and Volunteers who assist in our meal delivery programs are sometimes their only daily contact with other people. Many Volunteers take a little extra time with each client to visit and provide much needed conversation.

Brampton Meals on Wheels welcomes Volunteers of all ages to deliver meals and smiles. We encourage parents and grandparents to show children that their time really can make a difference. All it takes is a vehicle and a couple of hours. Whether you have only a few hours one day per week or you can volunteer every day, your assistance is needed and always appreciated.

To learn more about our Brampton Meals on Wheels Volunteer programs or to apply, simply fill out the form on the “contact us” tab or call us at 905-453-4140 ext. 3720 today. A member of our Brampton Meals on Wheels team will contact you shortly.
