Canada Day is a Federal holiday celebrating the anniversary date of July 1, 1967. 

 Canada Day marks the creation of the Dominion of Canada in 1867, the beginning of a united country.  The July 1st holiday was established in 1879 under the name Dominion Day.

 It is now frequently referred to as “Canada’s Birthday”.

 Most communities across Canada will host organized activities for Canada Day such as parades, BBQs and fireworks.

 As Canadians, we are proud of being a strong, caring and compassionate nation.
