NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK, APRIL 6 -12, 2014

NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK, APRIL 6 -12, 2014

VOLUNTEERS have a real impact in our communities.   Nearly all non-profit organizations in Canada are led by Volunteers.  Did you know that there are 13.3 million volunteers in Canada and they typically contribute 156 hours per year according to the Canada Survey on Giving, Volunteering and Participating, 2010.

Volunteering is a fundamental act of good citizenship.  It’s also a key element in our society.   Volunteers come from every walk of life age and cultural background.   BRAMPTON MEALS ON WHEELS cannot say enough about our Volunteers.    During this past winter season, our Volunteers  did an outstanding job delivering meals to our clients through the rain, mountains of snow and especially during the ice storm that affected the Brampton area.

A BIG THANK YOU to all Our Volunteers who do make a difference.   We are truly blessed,  without our Volunteers, our service would not be possible.  We are also able to bring SMILES to many people in the Brampton community either on a short or long term basis.  Our intention is “Every Meal comes with a Smile”.

BMOW values the participation of over 60 Volunteers who deliver meals and smiles, Monday to Friday every week of the year.  Last year our Volunteers logged thousands of kilometers and received countless volunteer hours towards the success of our program.

Their commitment is PRICELESS and we greatly appreciate their time and effort.     Our Volunteers  certainly make Brampton a great community to live in.
