Brampton Meals on Wheels (BMOW) participated for the first time for the Canada Summer Jobs program. 

Our special thanks for Zora K. for a job well done.  Your hard work and dedication has really benefited us for the past couple of months.

Below is the email, we received from Zora.

My name is Zoreena K. and this summer I worked as a summer intern for Brampton Meals On Wheels. I didn’t plan on spending my whole summer working this year, but after doing some research to find out how Meals On Wheels contributed to my community, especially the elderly, I knew that my time was going to be used towards something meaningful. Working alongside Karen and Rosa for the past 8 weeks has taught me more than I could’ve asked for in my first job. I spent my mornings completing paperwork, then packing meals, soups, and desserts, which would later be delivered by our volunteer drivers. For the remainder of my day I assisted and completed tasks that were assigned by Karen and Rosa. I would also deliver meals to two buildings where I had the pleasure of meeting some of the nicest, and most kind-hearted people within the community. The one downfall to this job was that the time went by incredibly fast and I wish it could’ve been longer than a summer placement! I’m so happy I had the opportunity to not only build on my work experience, but to have been guided throughout my first job by these two incredible ladies. Karen and Rosa go above and beyond every single day to ensure, every meal was delivered with a smile! They’re doing an astonishing job for our community, and I’ll never forget the experiences I’ve had while working at Brampton Meals On Wheels! I’m so grateful to have spent my summer working for this incredible organization. Thank you!
