BRAMPTON MEALS ON WHEELS participated in its first drive thru birthday parade on Saturday, June 13, 2020 for Mr. G. Burrows, fondly known as “Potsy”.
With the COVID-19 outbreak, this is a new way to celebrate special birthdays. Social distancing didn’t stop the family, friends and peers from putting a smile on Potsy’s face on his 102th birthday. Over 50 vehicles took part in the Flowertown neighbourhood while he sat on his scooter as the cars drove by his house. The parade created a wonderful memory for everyone. It was the perfect solution for a birthday party.
Cupcakes were given out to drivers to mark the occasion while birthday cards were dropped off in a large basket.
Brampton Meals on Wheels was happy to honour Potsy. He has been a client since 2005.
