Keep it clean and stay green Brampton!

Keep it clean and stay green Brampton!

2011 Harvest Cleanup Time (starts October 1st – 31st)

What a fun-filled summer we have had this year.  There’s no doubt that our Brampton parks and recreational facilities could use some clean up and T.L.C.!   Brampton Clean City’s annual Harvest Cleanup Campaign encourages all of us to do our part for the environment by registering families, schools, community groups, individuals, businesses and neighbourhoods to cleanup in a green space of choice.  Cleanups can be big or small – and can even include ravines, walkways, trails, boulevards, school yards, parking lots, sports fields, woodlots and more!  For more information about the 2011 Harvest Cleanup Campaign and events, please visit the www.brampton.ca or call the Brampton Clean City office at (905) 874-2828.

Your Green Yard – Fall Gardening Workshop this weekend!

Now this sounds like a lot of fun!  Do you live near the Cassie Campbell Community Centre? If so, you are invited to join Credit Valley Conservation to learn more about gardening with native plants that are right for your yard…. and it’s FREE!

Date: Saturday, October 1, 2011

Time: 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Place: Cassie Campbell Community Centre (corner of Sandlewood Parkway & Chinguacousy Road), Brampton

Discover which plants can attract birds and create habitat through the fall and winter!  Planning for the spring, designing your yard, green maintenance, and green outdoor building projects will also be discussed. The information in this workshop is oriented toward neighbourhoods near Cassie Campbell Community Centre, but all are welcome to attend. Nearby residents can sign up at the event to receive a free tree or shrub!  For more information, contact Melanie Kramer at 905-670-1615 x452 or mkramer@creditvalleyca.ca or visit the website at www.creditvalley.ca.ca

If you’re out and about this weekend, we’d love to see pictures from your parks cleanup or the Gardening Workshop.  Send us your story and pictures to bramptonmealsonwheels@bellnet.ca.
